In the glass, the wine shimmers with a pale hue of translucent garnet. Soft aromatics of dried rose petals prevail and invite a tasting. With bright hints of strawberry and ripe stone fruits, the wine leads to an opulent mid-palate. Finishing with purpose, it is long and riddled with layers of texture and grace.
Blend: Predominantly a blend of Grenache with small percentages of Syrah, and Carignan
Fragile is our inaugural rosé wine release from our Department 66 winery in Maury, France .Since inception in 2008, it has always been our intent to make a serious rosé reflective of the great wines from the southern regions. Sourced from some of the oldest vineyards on the D66 estate, it is a full bodied but complex wine that reflects the very low yields of the domain. A long, complex fermentation in stainless steel was closely maintained with supportive cooling measures to capture bright fruit nuances and vivacity. Served chilled, it reflects the unique minerality of the schist soils it grows in, but is softened via bright fruit notes and makes for an excellent aperitif.
