Light ruby color with garnet hues (Slavonian oak aging) almost like a very old wine.
Aromas: high alcohol with background of earthy aromas of wood, wet forest, licorice, rubber and new leather.
Typical high acidity of a Sangiovese, well balanced, medium/high tannins with flavors of licorice, menthol and tree's sap. Persistent acidity that balances pasta dishes with meat/tomato sauce. A good, cheaper alternative to a Brunello without losing too much on quality!
