The 2008 growing season started out slowly, with a cool, rainy spring and slightly delayed bud break. Warm summer months kept harvest on track by gradually advancing fruit maturity and the moderate temperatures continued into harvest, allowing the Cabernet to achieve ripeness of flavor and tannin without compromising natural acidity. Harvest progressed perfectly, and aroma, tannins and flavor profile for this vintage is truly exceptional.
THE LEAP ESTATE GROWN CABERNET SAUVIGNON opens with complex aromas of cinnamon, leather and cassis. The structure is dense and compact with harmonious layers of red fruit and ripe, dark plum. Aged for 24 months in barrels, fully resolved and mature tannins carry through to a long finish of brambles, coffee and cocoa powder.
